Ray Huntley

Ray is an experienced teacher who worked across the primary range in Essex, UK and Melbourne, Australia as subject leader, deputy head and head teacher. As senior lecturer at three universities, Ray worked with undergraduate and postgraduate students in teacher education and his Doctorate in Education researched the choice of mathematical examples by primary trainees. Publications include articles and reviews, and Ray enjoys promoting mathematics through games and problem solving activities. Ray is a member of the Association of Teachers of Mathematics and the Mathematical Association, serving on the Teaching Committee and the Primary Subcommittee. He worked as a consultant for BEAM since 2007, and he is particularly interested in classroom problem solving approaches, mathematical thinking and working with higher attainers and gifted and talented primary mathematicians.
